Soil is a life source of habitats with its role on the nutrient cycle and water production services. All the livelihoods of land creatures depend on soil. 95 % of the food that is produced today comes from soil. Protecting soil means to protect life and to establish the basis of sustainability.
Agriculture depends on soil, water, species present in nature and the diversity brought about by these species. Extensive soil tillage, increased usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticide-based industrial agricultural practices are causing the decline of soil health, contaminating waters and damaging biodiversity. The next generations depend on natural resources just as we do today.
Food production can be increased by 58% with sustainable agricultural practices. Sustainable agriculture is the system that protects natural assets and human health, and creates today’s and future demand for food production with technological practices.
It is a holistic agricultural system which produces natural products with sustainable resources and protects soil, water and biodiversity. It forbids the use of synthetic fertilisers, pesticides, antibiotics, growth hormones, and GMOs
